I am Alan Houke (pronounced howk). I am an oral historian, archivist, and genealogist with a passion for preserving personal and family memories, community and institutional histories, and historic events.

My Professional Background

I have a Master’s degree in Archives Management from Simmons University and over a decade of experience working in cultural heritage institutions, including the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (including two Presidential Libraries), the Library of Congress, the Harvard University Museum of the Ancient Near East, the New England Historic Genealogical Society, the Boston City Archives, the Tennessee State Library and Archives, and the Williamson County Public Library.
